Online 'hacktivist' collective Anonymous has issued a warning to Keith Flint after rumours emerged of the Prodigy frontman taking part in a fox hunt. The group warned of retribution if Flint doesn't stop "rubbing shoulders with Tory criminals" and killing animals for sport within the next year.

In a video posted online, a masked member of Anonymous declared "It has come to our attention that Keith has a fetish for murdering animals", while at the same time recognising the artistic merit of his music and haircut.

"Who would have thought Keith of all people would turn out to be a traitorous f**kwit? Throughout the years, the Prodigy made music about rebelling against the establishment," the Anonymous member states. "You see Mr Flint, we once had a great deal of respect for you. We admired your art, your rage, your vision and your haircut. But now Anonymous has targeted you with this message because you disgrace what we stand for."

Reports that Flint had invested in several hunting horses in his home county of Essex only appeared recently, alleging that "his enthusiasm for the sport is the talk of Essex hunting circles". Flint has since claimed in a Facebook post that he did not kill any animals as it was a drag hunt, meaning the hounds were following a pre-defined scent trail.

The post read: "In regards to a story going around about me right now – yes I live in Essex and have a couple of horses. I went riding with the local trail hunt, it was a ride out and no animals were hunted or killed, so my conscience is clear, it wasn't my thing and I won't be going again."
