British soul/pop singer Adele, who has just come out of a throat surgery, swept the 54th Grammy Awards winning a total of six Grammys on Sunday including three pre-telecast Grammys, Best Pop Solo Performance for "Somebody Like You",  Best Pop Vocal Album "21" and Best Short Form Music Video "Rolling in Deep". She also bagged three big ones including the Album of the Year, Record of the Year for "21" and  Song Of The Year for her hit single "Rolling in The Deep."

 After keeping a check on her emotions throughout the awards ceremony, The 23-year-old singer-songwriter finally burst into tears after receiving her final, "Album of the Year", award making it a six (awards) out of six (nominations) win.

 "People seem to really, really enjoy it," the Washington Post quoted her as saying about her song, "Rolling in The Deep."

American rockers Foo Fighters stole Sunday's pre-telecast awards of the Grammies by picking up five gramophones for Best Rock Performance (Walk), Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance (White Limo), Best Rock Song (Walk), and Best Rock Album (Wasting Light) and best long form music video (Walk). Later, they also performed their hit single "Walk."

 "This is a great honour because this record was a special record for our band. Rather than go to the best studio ... we made this one in my garage with some microphones and a tape machine. It shows that the human element of making music is what's most important," vancouversun.com quoted Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl as saying.

Kanye West, Rihanna, Kid Cudi & Fergie's Collaboration song "All of the Lights"  won two Grammies  in the Best Rap/Sung Collaboration and Best Rap Song category. Kanye West also picked up the Best Rap Album Award for his "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy"album.

 In the Rnb category Cee Lo Green & Melanie Fiona's "Fool For You" picked up two Awards for Best Traditional R&B Performance and Best R&B Song. Corinne Bailey Rae's "Is This Love" and Chris Brown's F.A.M.E. album picked up the Best R&B Performance and Best R&B Album awards respectively.

 Country star Taylor Swift's song "Mean" also picked up two Grammies for the Best Country Solo Performance and the Best Country Song.

American Folk band, Bon Iver also picked up a Grammy for  Best New Artist.
