An angry neighbour who got revenge on his late-night karaoke-singing neighbours by posting an X-Factor-style critique of their performances has become an internet hit.
Oli Beale pinned a handwritten verdict on the people "singing/screaming on their balcony" on the communal noticeboard at his block of flats in Hackney, east London.
Beale, 33, then posted a photo of the note on to Twitter and the sarcastic review of his raucous neighbours went viral, being retweeted on the social network site hundreds of times.
Beale, who works as an advertising creative, wrote: "To the people that kept us up all night by singing/screaming on their balcony.
"Your terrace faces 115 windows so you really did have the perfect stage. I'm sure you're keen to hear our verdict."
The irate neighbour then proceeded to give each performance a mark out of 10 followed by a scathing Simon Cowell-esque opinion.
He declared his neighbours' 2:23am version of The Who's Pinball Wizard as "terrible" and damned their 3:14am rendition of Aerosmith and Run DMC's Walk This Way as "the lowest point of the performance" giving it a 1/10 rating.
Beale signed off: "I hate you".
He said later: "I was lying in bed getting more and more wound up about it and then I just thought I would write a little critique of their songs as a way of getting through the night.
"The poor guys, they were probably just having a party. It's not like I'm striding around absolutely fuming."
In 2009, Beale's written complaint to Virgin Atlantic about his inflight meal, which he described as a "culinary journey of hell", also became an online sensation.
