The Last of Us star Ashley Johnson has said she would reprise her role as Ellie in a sequel to the hit action horror game - and using some flowery language.

The game's DLC Left Behind won in the Best Story category with Johnson accepted the prize ahead of her own nomination in the Best Performer category later in the evening. Backstage she spoke to journalists and was asked the inevitable question regarding a sequel.

Asked if she would return as Ellie in The Last of Us 2 Johnson replied with an emphatic: "Oh f**k yeah!" before apologising for her language.

IBTimes UK asked her about the success of the game, wondering whether she is better known for The Last of Us than her physically-present (but small) performance in Avengers Assemble - the third biggest film of all time.

"I probably get recognised for The Last of Us more than anything, which is crazy because it isn't physically my face. Last of Us has changed my life in so many ways and we shot it for over three years so, and including the DLC I guess four, so being part of something for that long and the experiences you have, the relationships you form, I wouldn't change it for anything, it's one of my favourite things I've worked on."

Asked about how she would portray an adult Ellie, Johnson said: "It just depends if they want to revisit the story again. Ellie could go either way, he lied to her [at the end of the game] so you don't know how she would take that - would she be mad at him, would she be okay with, there's many places you could go."
