Everton defender John Stones is set to return to the Toffees' match-day squad for their FA Cup fifth-round tie against Bournemouth on 20 February. The highly rated youngster has recently been sidelined with a hamstring injury.

But Everton manager Roberto Martinez has revealed the 21-year-old is now ready to make his return to first-team action. "I expect John Stones to be part of the squad this weekend and to have a very good end to the season," he said during a pre-match press conference ahead of the FA Cup tie.

However, Bosnian midfielder Muhamed Besic will not be fit for the game at Dean Court, as he continues his return from a hamstring problem. "Mo Besic has been working well but it is likely the weekend will come too soon for him," the Everton boss explained.

Meanwhile, Martinez also admitted there remains a degree of uncertainty about the potential availability of attacker Oumar Niasse. "[He] has a bit of a problem with his wrist. We want to make sure he's fully fit before he plays," the Everton manager explained. "We will know more in the next 48 hours but Oumar has an outside chance. If not, I expect him to be ready for Aston Villa [on 1 March]."
