Daniel Agger has revealed the extent of his frustrations with life at Liverpool and is unsure whether he will still be at the club after the transfer window closes on Monday.

Agger, 29, has endured an injury stricken year that saw him lose his place in Brendan Rodgers' starting XI last season.

Another knee problem, which he suffered during the club's pre-season tour, has ensured the Dane has started the new season on the sidelines, watching on as Martin Skrtel and new signing Dejan Lovren have struck a partnership at the heart of defence.

Agger admits his persistent troubles for fitness are responsible for his role in the first team being consistently undermined. However, he has expressed his concern with the manner in which he was so quickly dropped by Rodgers, despite having had a key role to play before a fresh fitness concerns struck.

Speaking to Danish outlet Jyllands Posten, Agger said: "I had many minor injuries in the completely wrong times and I must realise that it is very difficult to change the team when it wins. I am not frustrated about that. I am because of the way it happened and how it was handled.

Kolo Toure

"We had, for example, won six or seven times in a row with me in the team, and then I was away from training for two days leading up to a match against West Ham because I had knee problems.

"Therefore, I didn't play in the match and so then I was out of the team."

Lovren's arrival from Southampton this summer coupled with Rodgers' decision to retain the services of Kolo Touré means the Reds have a number of options at centre-half, with Mamadou Sakho also waiting in the wings.

But Agger, who has repeatedly rejected the advances of Barcelona over the years, is unsure what his club have planned for him this season and admits it is not clear what is in store during the remaining days of the summer transfer window.

"The future is complicated," Agger said. "There are some things that need to be resolved and then we take it from there."

When asked if his future would become clear before the deadline on September 1, he added: "No, I have not actually. It's kind of up to Liverpool."
