Ann Maguire
Facebook troll Jake Newsome jailed after posting offensive tweets following Maguire's death

A Facebook troll who posted a vile message after the killing of Leeds teacher Ann Maguire has been jailed for six weeks.

Jake Newsome, 21, wrote on the social media site after Maguire was stabbed to death at Corpus Christi Catholic College.

His message read: "Personally, I'm glad that teacher got stabbed up. Feel sorry for the kid. He should have p***** on her too."

A 15-year-old boy has been charged with her murder and is due to stand trial in November.

She suffered a number of stab wounds but one to her neck severed a major artery, which proved fatal.

The 61-year-old was due to retire in September after serving at the school more than 40 years.

She leaves two grown-up daughters and two nephews.
