As the Twilight saga draws to a close, fans of the author Stephenie Meyer's work have a new adaptation to get excited about.

The first teaser trailer has been released for The Host, an adaptation of Meyer's science fiction novel.

The film, starring Saoirse Ronan and Diane Kruger, sees Earth invaded by an alien species that takes over the bodies of humans.

The trailer is very short as principal photography has not begun on the project. Considering the Twilight saga's huge following, the anticipation levels of Meyer's next vision are sure to be high.

The Host is due for release in March 2013.
