Jamar Walker died after he was stabbed in the leg during a fight in Smethwick WMP

Police detectives investigating the death of Jamar Walker are continuing their enquiries. The 15-year-old died of a stab wound to his upper leg after a fight broke out in the early hours of Sunday in Raglan Road, Smethwick.

Emergency services were alerted to reports of a teenager found with stab wounds in Raglan Road at approximately 2:20am. Walker, who was living in the Handsworth area, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and died. A post mortem revealed this was as a result of a stab injury to his upper leg.

A 17-year-old lad also suffered a minor stab injury to his lower back and was treated at hospital before being released. Detective Inspector Warren Hines from Force CID said: "We are continuing to investigate what happened during the early hours of Sunday morning in Raglan Road. It is believed there was some sort of fracas in the street which led to one teenager tragically losing his life and another being injured.

"Enquiries are ongoing, we are looking at CCTV and forensic investigations are taking place at the scene. I would urge anyone who was around the Raglan Road area at the time please get in touch. If you have any information about what took place please call me on 101."
