Fans have watched her chaotic life play out on the small screen and in gossip magazines, but now Lindsay Lohan is telling her story in a tell-all autobiography.

The troubled Hollywood actress is reportedly already in talks with major publishing houses about releasing the intimate tome.

The book is expected to delve into her drug addiction, stint in rehab and also reveal the truth about a leaked list of her alleged lovers which included famous names such as Colin Farrell, Justin Timberlake, James Franco and The Wanted's Max George.

"Lindsay held meetings at major publishing houses in London recently -- and the stories she promised the literary agents made their jaws drop," a source told the Sun.

''She's prepared to put everything out there and has already proved she's not shy with the list of men she claims to have slept with.''

Lohan is said to be on the hunt for a high-profile author such as Fifty Shades of Grey scribe EL James or Harry Potter author JK Rowling to help her write the autobiography.

The insider added: ''Lindsay is now looking for a ghost writer. It may seem unlikely, but she thinks she's in with a shot of getting EL James to work on it -- they met recently at [London nightspot] Chiltern Firehouse and got on well.

''Another pie in the sky idea was that she might persuade JK Rowling to work with her.''

The autobiography could be the 28-year-old star's way of finally closing the door on her troubled past as she prepares for her new life in London.

Lohan plans to move across the Atlantic in a bid to refocus on her career. She admits she feels let down by America and under constant scrutiny on her home soil.

"I think you go through phases in life and you hit this wall where you kind of want to do something new and experience something different," she said of the new challenge.

"I think I just am in a place now where it's the right time."
