A year is a long time in the wheeler dealer world of international football transfers. Radamel Falcao, one of the world's most-coveted strikers was being linked with a move to Chelsea last season and speculation increased last month the Colombian may be heading for Stamford Bridge, with Mourinho himself suggesting the striker's move to Chelsea could be good for both parties. How time flies.

"I have a team but no striker. And a player like Falcao can't play in front of 3,000 people. Monaco is a club to end [your career with]," Mourinho said.

But the 'Special One' may suffer a summer transfer blow as Spanish TV Station Cuatro recently spotted the player having dinner with his agent Jorge Mendes, Txiki Begiristain, Monaco owner Dmitr Rybolovlev and Real Madrid president Florentino Perez.

The reason for the dinner remains a mystery but speculation is rife the meeting had something to do with the footballing futures of Falcao himself, Sergio Aguero and Angel Di Maria.

Cuatro
Cuatro spotted Falcao with Begiristain and Real Madrid president.

Aguero has been a long-term target for Real Madrid, who tried to secure his services when the Argentinian was at Atletico. The fierce rivalry between the two neighbours meant the deal had to be aborted and the striker moved to City instead.

However, Los Blancos are still in the market for a striker and Cuatro has suggested they may consider a new move for the City star.

And in case Aguero will leave the Etihad, City will try to replace him with Falcao while Monaco would sign Real Madrid star Di Maria, who was already very close to move to the Ligue 1 side in January and is also represented by Jorge Mendes.
