Miss India Sobhita Dhulipala has emerged as one of the strongest candidates to win the crown at the 13th edition of the Miss Earth pageant, which will take place at the Versailles Palace in Alabang, Muntinlupa City, Philippines.

Dhulipala stood out from the other candidates and won Miss Eco Beauty title.

"Miss Eco beauty : Gold medal : India! Forever grateful to everybody. Thank you very much! Ecstatic," she tweeted.

Previously, Dhulipala was announced as winner of the Miss Photogenic competition and bagged a gold medal with 8,465 votes.

"3rd Indian after Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Diana Hayden to ever win miss photogenic on an international platform. After 16 years. Overjoyed and thankful to each and every one of you," she wrote on her Facebook page.

She also made it to the the Top 15 of both the Talent and Resorts Wear competitions.

"Miss Earth to me, means a lot more than an international beauty pageant. It implies a larger than life celebration of spirit, beauty, passion and betterment," Dhulipala said, according to The Times of India.

The current title holder Tereza Fajksová from Czech Republic will crown this year's winner during the finale on 7 December. The winner will also serve as the Ambassador to environmental protection campaigns worldwide, according to the official website.

"The Miss Earth Team will continually call for the cooperation of private organizations and governments to make our environmental efforts sustainable. The environment we live in will reflect on the kind of life we have," Lorraine Schuck, the organiser of Miss Earth, said.
