Versace and Dior, among others, showed off their creations on January 23, day one of the Paris Haute Couture Week.

The show was not just attended by top models and fashion designers but also drew cheers from actresses Cameron Diaz, Diane Kruger, models Natalia Vodianova and Bar Rafaeli and American socialite Olivia Palermo.

If Donatella Versace's collection had plenty of gold and yellow, Dior's Bill Gaytten collection had black, white, red and purple and with basic cuts.

Million dollar cloths, intricate designs, detailed work, smart cuts, riots of colours and opulence would be on display during the weeklong show running from January 23-26.

On day two, January 24,Chanel, Giorgio Armani Prive and Givenchy will display their creations.

Day three, January 25, will have one of the most favourite designers of Hollywood actresses Elie Saab, Jean Paul Gaultier and Valentino.

On day four accessories will be showcased by top designer houses.

A limited edition Valentino bag, designed for the fashion week, would be on offer on January 26.
