Ferrari's new limited edition LaFerrari Aperta convertible has been launched – to much fanfare – at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. Black with red accents, the low-slung hybrid two-seater is being released for the company's 70th anniversary. Powered by a 6,262cc V12 engine coupled with a 120kW electric motor, the low-slung hypercar goes from 0 to 100km/h in under three seconds, with a top speed of more than 350km/h.

Only 209 models are being released to the public, but they've all been snapped up already, despite a price tag of £2m ($2.6m). IBTimesUK's Alistair Charlton, who climbed behind the wheel of one in Paris, gives his full impressions of the LaFerrari Aperta here.

The Paris Motor Show is open to the public from 1 to 16 October 2016. We will publish a full picture gallery featuring all of the latest and most exciting cars on show later today, but the LaFerrari Aperta is so gorgeous it deserves its own big picture special.
