Samsung Galaxy S3

The latest official XXDLJ1 Android 4.1.1 firmware is already out for Samsung Galaxy S3. After installing the latest firmware users may wish to root their device running XXDLJ1, as rooting the device will allow users to install root apps, custom recovery and install system tweaks.

Users looking to root their Galaxy S3 can run through the below mentioned CF-Root method. CF-Root package features SuperSU v0.93, ClockworkMod (CWM) recovery v5.5 and ClockworkMod (CWM) v3.60.

IBTimes UK reminds readers it will not be held responsible for damage to the device during installation. This guide works only with the international variant of the Galaxy S3 (i9300) running XXDLJ1 Android 4.1.1 version.

To do list:

    • Ensure device has at least 80 percent battery charge
    • Ensure all important data is backed up
    • Ensure device is factory unlocked
    • Ensure ClockWorkMod (CWM) Recovery is installed

    • Open Odin on your PC and connect the phone to PC while it is in the download mode
    • On successful connection, you will see that one of the ID:COM boxes will turn yellow

    • Check the Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time options in the Odin
    • In Odin, click on Start button to begin the installation process
