The latest Android 4.1.2 has now been made available for Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 P6810 (Wi-Fi) as a Paranoid Android custom ROM. Although this is an unofficial ROM, it is one of the first ROMs to provide the Jelly Bean update for several Android smartphones and tablets.

You can check out the process of updating your Galaxy Tab 7.7 to Android 4.1.2 JZO54K Paranoid Jelly Bean custom firmware via ClockworkMod (CWM) recovery.

Before proceeding there are certain points to be kept in mind. Firstly, back up all your data and ensure you have installed all the USB drivers for the device. Secondly, enable USB debugging. Ensure your device's battery has at least 80 per cent charge. Finally, make sure that your tablet is factory unlocked.

Below is the procedure to install Android 4.1.2 JZO54K Paranoid Jelly Bean custom firmware on your Galaxy Tab 7.7:

  • Download CM10 Jelly Bean Android 4.1.2 and Google Apps to your PC
  • Connect your device to PC via USB cable and copy the downloaded zip files to the SD card.
  • Switch off the tablet and unplug from USB cable. Make the device enter into recovery mode. To do so, turn on the device and keep pressing Volume Up + Home and Power keys
  • Perform data wiping in the CWM recovery. Then, scroll to and select flash zip from SD card
  • Select choose zip from sdcard. Now, navigate to ROM file and tap on Yes to confirm the installation
  • Repeat the same step for installing Google Apps package
  • Go to +++++Go Back and reboot the device by choosing reboot system now. The tablet will start booting.

Your Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 should now be running Android 4.1.2 JZO54K Paranoid Jelly Bean custom firmware.
