A new series Sex Box will feature couples having sex in a box on live TV WETv

WE TV's new reality show features couples with "intimacy issues" having sex inside a box in front of a live studio audience.

Adapted from the UK series of the same name, couples will get advice from a panel of sex experts before entering the camera-free, soundproof box to get intimate.

After the act, every couple will talk about their experience and based on what happens in the box, the "sexperts" will advise them on whether or not they should stay together.

According to WE TV, people are more honest when they are in a relaxed state and post-sex is one of the best times to capture a person's most honest self.

The panel of judges who will be examining each couple's relationship includes Fran Walfish, a relationship expert; Dr Chris Donaghue, a sex therapist; Danielle Stewart, a comedian; and Yvonne Capehart, a pastor.

Sex Box will air 11 one-hour episodes and the panelists will be joined by comedian and podcaster Danielle Stewart for commentary and on-the-street interviews.

"Sex Box is one of the most unique and compelling show concepts we've ever seen, and we can't wait to bring it to WEtv," Network president Marc Juris said.

"Our featured couples will get a once-in-a-lifetime experience, while our viewers will get the kind of bold, break-through-the-clutter programing they increasingly associate with WE tv," he added.

WE TV's Sex Box premieres on 27 February at 10pm.
