Hollywood star and American actress Amy Adams looked divine in a strapless Valentino dress and Casadei pumps, at the London premiere of the newest Superman film, Man of Steel. Adams completed her look with a simple hair do; she tied her hair into a bun with a black hair band.

The event was at the Odeon Leicester Square.

The 38-year-old Oscar-nominated actress (for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in 2006, 2009, 2011 and 2013) was joined on the red carpet by co-star and Superman Henry Cavill, who turned out in a midnight-blue Tom Ford suit.

Adams recently revealed she auditioned three separate times for the role of Lois Lane, Superman's love interest and a reporter with the Daily Planet.

"I think that I was at the right time to try something new," she said, "I think had I done it in the past I would have tried to emulate something I saw, or one of the comics. I would really be trying to emulate something as opposed to trying something new."

German actress Antje Traue, who plays Faora-Ul, a super villain from Superman's home planet, Krypton, was also at the event. The 32-year-old looked elegant in a Chanel dress with black Christian Louboutin heels and a side-parted bun. Cast members Russell Crowe (who plays Jor-El, Superman's father) and Michael Shannon (who plays leading antagonist General Zod, also a former Kryptonian).

Meanwhile, Cavill spoke about the experience of playing an iconic comic book character.

"The first time I put it on it was like it had a force of its own. When I put it on I felt different and people behaved differently around me. It really felt like we were creating something special," the 30-year-old said.

Kevin Costner (as Jonathan Kent) and Diane Lane (as Martha Kent) play Superman's adopted parents. Man of Steel was directed by Zack Snyder and produced by Christopher Nolan. The film is set for release in the UK and the US on Friday.
