A popular TV actor, who was caught in a high-profile Mumbai rave party bust, could face arrest after testing positive for drugs.

Apoorva Agnihotri, son of former cricketer Bishan Singh Bedi, was among a host of top Bollywood names caught up in a police swoop in May who have tested positive for drug consumption.

According to Mumbai police, out of the 92 people detained after the rave at the Oakwood Hotel, 44 tested positive. Of them, 27 had taken cannabis, one had consumed MDMA and 16 had consumed MDMA and cannabis.

Stars including actors Agnihotri, Angad Bedi, Amit Gaur and Anshuman Jha and designer Rocky S are consumed drugs, said police.

Agnihotri, 39, was taken into custody with his wife, Shilpa Saklani, but was released the next day. Their urine and blood samples were sent for medical examination.

They denied taking drugs and said they were unaware that it was a "rave" party.

"It just happened that we were at the wrong place at the wrong time," they said. "This was a very unfortunate thing to happen. We haven't been involved in anything bad."

Agnihotri, is best known for his portrayal of Armaan in Sony TV's Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin.
