Watford manager Quique Sanchez Flores has claimed Tottenham "have the chance to win" the Premier League title after his side suffered a narrow defeat at White Hart Lane. The Spanish boss said that Spurs have improved a lot since their previous encounter in December and tips them to go all the way to the title after their deserved victory leaves Mauricio Pochettino's side in the second position of the table, just five points behind leaders Leicester City.

Kieran Trippier scored the only goal of the game in the second half after a good cross from substitute Dele Alli. Flores, however, admitted Spurs could have scored prior to that moment as his side struggled to cope with the talent of the Tottenham squad.

"It was completely difficult. We expected a tough match. Tottenham play really quick, play intelligent balls, they have a lot of good players so it was very difficult to stop their attacks," the Watford boss said after the game to BBC.

"Tottenham have improved since the last time we played. They have more confidence and they are one of the best teams. They have the chance to win the league.

The manager, nevertheless, praised the effort of his players while pointing out that the tiredness following the midweek goalless draw with Chelsea also played a part in their defeat.

"Playing against Chelsea and Tottenham in four days is too much," he added. "We did all the best we could but it was not enough."
