Liverpool and Manchester United have been handed a major boost in signing Alberto Moreno after the defender's agent revealed that Sevilla are willing to negotiate for summer transfer.

The Merseyside club and the Red Devils are reportedly interested in signing the 21-year-old left-back, with Real Madrid also believed to be in the race in signing the Spain international. Moreno came up through the ranks of the La Liga side's youth system, before breaking into the first team in 2012.

Moreno has been in impressive form in Sevilla's back four this season. He has made 22 league appearances while scoring three goals and managing an assist in the process. The left-back is having a £25m release clause and his agent Javier Moya confirmed Napoli's approach for his client in January.

"Sevilla are willing to negotiate, but on their conditions. I'm not saying he can only leave there for his £25m release clause fee," Moya told AS.

"Yes, Napoli presented an offer in January, but it was not seen as big enough. The interest of Real Madrid? Nothing has been done and my client is concentrating on Sevilla," Moreno's agent concluded.

United currently have the services of Patrice Evra as the first choice left-back at Old Trafford. The Frenchman's current deal at the club run's down at the end of the season and he has not signed a contract extension.

Moyes is also interested in signing Madrid's Fabio Coentrao, who has been linked with a move to Old Trafford last summer and earlier in January. A move for the Portuguese international to United could see the Spanish capital club make an approach for Moreno at the end of the season.

Brenda Rodgers is looking to solve Liverpool's left-back problems and is considering an approach in bringing Moreno to Anfield in the summer. The two Premier League clubs could face tough competition from the nine-time European giants for the services of Moreno.

Should Liverpool fail to sign Moreno in the summer, the former Swansea manager could turn his attention in signing Barcelona's Adriano. The Brazil international has been on the Reds' radar in recent times and has been a rumoured target for the Merseyside club.
