The broadcasters have now proposed seven parties will be able to take part in some of the TV debates ahead of the general election in May.

The move comes after the prime minister warned he would no-show the debates unless more parties were included.

But now David Cameron has said he wants the Northern Irish political parties included and has also called on the broadcasters to hold the debates before the election campaign starts.
