American Horror Story: Hotel will feature Lady Gaga as an evil Countess FX

The official plot synopsis of American Horror Story: Hotel premiere episode has been officially revealed by FX. Lady Gaga, who is starring in the fifth season of the hit anthology series, will find a detective investigating gruesome murders in Hotel Cortex.

Episode 1 of AHS season 5 is titled, Checking in, and the official synopsis reads as follows:

Detective and family man John Lowe [Wes Bentley] investigates a chain of gruesome murders in Los Angeles. A mysterious tip points him to the enigmatic Hotel Cortez. Written by Ryan Murphy & Brad Falchuk; directed by Ryan Murphy.

Singer Gaga will play Elizabeth aka the Countess who owns The Hotel Cortez. She is described as a wealthy socialite who drinks blood in order to maintain her youthful figure.

The hotel is managed by Iris (Kathy Bates), whose son Donovan (Matt Bomer) has a romantic relationship with the Countess. A new trailer released by the network gives us an inside look at the creepy hotel and its full cast. The 30-second video titled Hallways, races through the halls of the haunted hotel, giving glimpses of each character, including Lady Gaga.

Entertainment Weekly has released an image of Gaga's character from the AHS sets, where she is seen in a bathrobe. Gaga said the lack of clothing doesn't mean the woman is vulnerable.

"The Countess is a very old soul," Gaga told EW. "She's extremely strong. She's been through so much. It's kind of impossible for anything to penetrate her. This show in many ways is about her survival and there is an amazing journey that touches on the mythology of viruses and in what ways these afflictions change our lives and bring us together and tear us apart."

The singer also filmed a foursome sex scene with Matt Bomer for the series.

American Horror Story season 5 debuts on 7 October on FX.
