The latest version of KitKat software is now rolling out for Sony's camera smartphone, the Xperia Z1 Compact.

Recently, a new firmware with build number 14.4.A.0.108 was certified for Xperia Z1 Compact with no information on the availability of the update.

Surprisingly, a firmware update with build number 14.4.A.0.108 is now rolling out for the Xperia Z1 Compact. The 14.4.A.0.108 build brings Android 4.4.4 KitKat upgrade for Xperia Z1 Compact.

The update is currently live for Z1 Compact users in Russia, Italy and Indonesia, report Xperiablog.

The update will not be available for all users at the moment. The timing and availability of the update depend on the market and carrier networks. To check the availability of the 14.4.A.0.108 build navigate to Settings > About phone > Software updates > System updates.

Sony is yet to release the official changelog for 14.4.A.0.108 firmware. Meanwhile, recognised XDA contributor, Jozinek has shared the FTF download link for 14.4.A.0.108 build.

The firmware is Generic RU (Russia) and without bloatware. Those who have not received the update yet can flash the FTF file using latest version of Flashtool.

The 14.4.A.0.108 build version was also certified by the PTCRB site for Xperia Z Ultra and Xperia Z1. However, there is no sign of a rollout so far.
