HTC's 2013 and 2014 flagship One series smartphones will receive Android Lollipop upgrade with version 5.0.

HTC, in reply to a tweet, has mentioned that it will upgrade the One M8 to Android Lollipop within 90 days of receiving the final software from Google. The same applies to the One M7.

The mini variants such as One Mini and One Mini 2 are included in HTC's list but currently there is no detail about the dates for the official roll-out.

Meanwhile, the HTC One M8 bearing model number 0P6B has been spotted in the Bluetooth org site with Bluetooth certification. While the Bluetooth certification is a usual process, what is noteworthy in the certification is the mention of Android 5.0 Lollipop, which hints at the update for the smartphone.

Apart from that, the certification does not provide details on the roll-out, but this suggests that HTC might push the update for its flagships faster than its competitor. HTC is also likely to release a new version of Sense with the update, according to Gforgames.

As for other manufacturers, Motorola and Sony have already confirmed the upgrade for their devices. Sony will update all its Xperia Z series devices including smartphones and tablet to Android L, while Motorola will do so for its old and new Moto X and Moto G and a few more including the budget-friendly Moto E.
