Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt recently confirmed that they got married last weekend in France, but pictures of the famous couple have remained surprisingly scarce - so we have been left to speculate over what the bride wore.

A friend who attended the wedding revealed to E! Online that the dress was "very traditional", but typical Jolie. It was comfortable but plain, white floor-length antique lace and silk.

The Maleficent star "definitely wore something that once belonged to [her late mother] Marcheline Bertrand: a small gold locket with a photo of her mother inside it".

The source also revealed the brunette beauty wore a veil at the nuptials, with cherry blossom lipstick on her lips, and when "Brad lifted it, he gasped because she looked so stunning".

Jolie is known to be a big fan of British couture label Ralph & Russo, which is famous for creating traditional wedding gowns for royalty, so it is possible the label could have designed her dress.

Ralph & Russo has created several gowns for the star in the past so it's "highly likely", the source told E!.

There is also a small chance the dress could have been designed by Versace as the actress is a loyal fan of the Italian fashion house, often wearing outfits tailored by the luxury label for her red carpet appearances.

The couple's wedding rings are rumoured to have been designed by their friend Robert Procop, who also designed Jolie's 16-carat, emerald-cut diamond engagement ring, which is worth approximately $500,000.

The couple's six children were at the ceremony in the south of France, with the sons wearing matching cream linen suits to match their father's tuxedo, while the daughters were in dresses.
