She has spoken about her battle with drug addiction on multiple occasions and now Angelina Jolie's unsavoury past has come back to haunt her.

A convicted drug dealer, who claims he supplied the 39-year-old Hollywood actress with heroin and cocaine in the late 90s, has leaked footage allegedly showing Jolie minutes after a hit.

Franklin Meyer, a convicted drug dealer, said he filmed the harrowing scenes after he was called to her Manhattan apartment to delivery drugs.

"Angie was a client of mine for several years. I sold her heroin and cocaine. One day she called me up and wanted me to drop by her place," he told The National Enquirer.

"At the time, I had just bought a video camera and decided to bring it along. When I arrived, I just gave her the drugs and then she gave me the money."

In the 16-minute clip, a then-blonde Jolie appears dishevelled, emancipated and irritated. Her eyes are bloodshot as she paces on the phone as she apparently talks to her father, Hollywood icon Jon Voight, about a family issue. Her room is littered with rubbish and soda cans.

"You know, it's just the idea of trying to get a house or a room for everybody is just not necessary," she can be heard telling the person on the phone.

"But it's, you know, whatever that house... I said once, well, 'what if I stop working?' She's like telling me to relax... But I said: 'What if I don't work for you, what if I don't make that much money? And you stay in an apartment until I make more money so that you can get a bigger house? What if something happens to me? What if I don't work?'"

She continued, "I just want for her to be able to... You know, I don't want this to ruin our relationship. And I don't want it to be this thing where we go out to do something or go to dinner or go shopping or her coming to visit and not buying something for herself.

"And I said to her, you know, we have to remind ourselves sometimes when we come to your place we talk about... this concept... we're all in this place, and it's very hard for us to think about getting a house or these cars... when you have no new clothes or that you have holes..."

In the 15 years since the clip was filmed, the Maleficent star has turned her life around. Brad Pitt's fiancée is now a mother- of-six and her humanitarian efforts have made headlines.

Not only was she a former United Nations ambassador for refugees , she was recently honoured by the Queen for her campaigning work helping the victims of sex trafficking.

Back in 2011, she admitted that she had gone through 'darker' times before she catapulted to international fame and was lucky to be alive.

"I think people can imagine that I did the most dangerous and I did the worst," she told 60 Seconds.

"For many reasons, I shouldn't be here. You think of those too many times where you came close to too many dangerous things, too many chances taken too far."

Jolie has not commented on the video.
