Arsenal have been handed a boost in their pursuit to land Manchester City midfielder Abdisalam Ibrahim in the upcoming transfer window. The 22-year-old has revealed there are several clubs interested in his services and will decide his future after the pre-season tour with the club.

"There are many clubs who have indicated their interest. I don't want to tell which clubs. Most of all I hope to join a club in England or Germany. City will get a new manager and I might stay with them during pre-season and from then we will see," Goal.com quoted Ibrahim as saying.

The midfielder has returned to the Etihad after completing his loan spell with Norwegian club, Stromsgodset. Ibrahim is being linked with a move to the Emirates in the summer as Arsene Wenger had sent his chief scout to Norway, to watch him in action.

The Norway U-23 international has made no secret of his desire to join the north London club as he admitted he was honoured to be linked with Arsenal. In addition to this, the player has now set his eyes on featuring regularly for either City or for his future club.

Ibrahim's current deal at the Ethihad expires in 2014 and his style of play has been compared to that of the former Arsenal midfielder Patrick Vieira and City star Yaya Toure. The midfielder's addition to the Gunners' squad will give Wenger more options in the middle of the park.

Meanwhile, Aaron Ramsey has now urged Arsenal boss to bring in quality players in the summer. The Welsh international believes the addition of talented players to the north London club's squad could see them end their eight-year trophy drought.

"We must now start planning for next season and I know Arsene will beef up the squad with quality signings. That is the way to go and hopefully we will be able to challenge for top honours come next season," Ramsey told Goal.com.

"We need a trophy now and next season I have strong belief that Arsenal will not disappoint. We must end this long wait and win a trophy. We currently have a strong team and with a few additions I know we will deliver the top prize," he added.
