Overview

Arsenal welcome Stoke City to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday in a clash that is one of the most difficult fixtures in the season for the Gunners.

The north London club have always struggled against the Potters, especially when Tony Pulis was the manager of the club. But it seemed to have carried on as the Gunners were beaten 3-2 at the Britannia Stadium earlier in the season.

Arsene Wenger will want his team to avenge that defeat and the availability of Mesut Ozil and Aaron Ramsey will be a big boost ahead of the game.

Arsenal have a good record at home this season and will want to continue that on Sunday. Wenger will be aware that three points are a must as they chase a place in the top four.

Stoke come into this game on the back of a four-match unbeaten run and will hope to continue that form when they face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

Mark Hughes will want a repeat performance from earlier in the season, when his team steam-rolled the Gunners in a virtuoso first-half performance that ultimately led to a well-deserved victory despite a fight back by Arsenal in the second half.

The manager has almost a fully fit squad to chose from barring long-term absentee Peter Odemwingie and Mame Biram Diouf, who has departed for the Africa Cup of Nations.

What Managers Say

Arsene Wenger: "We could do better but I feel recently we have found good form at home. We look confident and focused on our game - that's what we want to do against Stoke on Sunday."

Mark Hughes [on Bojan Krkic]: "If he has a problem, I haven't seen it. He has been superb for us. His attitude has been great. He isn't the tallest and he has been working every day in the gym to give himself more strength. It is working. He has put on about seven pounds and it is upper-body strength. It's about getting the balance right physically and he is working on that. As far as attitude it concerned, I couldn't be happier with him."
