Khamenei blames "dirty Zionists" and "most evil" British for crisis

The Iranian ambassador to the UK has been summoned by the British government after Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei blamed Zionists, Americans and the British for the current political turmoil in Iran.

In his speech given at Friday Prayers Khamenei said, "The enemies are trying through the media - which is controlled by dirty Zionists."

"The Zionist, American and British radio are all trying to say that there was a competition between those who support and those who didn't support the state."

He also claimed that foreign diplomats were now showing their "true image" and that "the most evil of them all is the British Government".

Iranian ambassador Rasoul Movahedian has been called to meet Mark Lyall Grant, political director at the British Foreign Office who will complain about the remarks, reports Reuters.
