Actress Kate Winslet will receive the French Cesar award, equivalent to the Oscars, at the 37th Cesar awards ceremony to be held on February 24 in Paris.

The French Academy of Cinematic Arts and Techniques announced Kate's name for the honorary award, while presenting the nominations for the 2012 Cesar awards on Friday.
Kate is being given the award for her life and acting career by the French Academy, which holds its version of the Academy Awards every year, handing out the Cesar awards.
The 36-year-old actress is currently starring in director Roman Polanski's film "Carnage", which was released recently.
Kate has won several awards including the Emmy for her role in a mini-series "Mildred Pierce" and the Oscars for her 2008 movie "Reader".
