A mixed-breed dog that became an internet sensation because of his 'human-like' face has received hundreds of adoption offers.
Tonik a poodle/Shih Tzu from Indiana, was due to be put down when he was saved by an animal shelter.
The two-year-old pooch, whose facial features are eerily similar to a person's, is up for a new home.
Jen Schwartz, the owner of the Homeward Bound Animal Welfare Group in Mishawaka, Indiana, where Tonik has lived since 2011, said the publicity had been priceless.
The shelter has already received over 500 adoption offers and hundreds of dollars in donations.
"He is rather timid and very shy. He's a great dog, but we have other pets who are housebroken and much more friendly," she said.
Tonik's online profile describes him as a "very sweet boy who is trying to figure things out and enjoy people".
"He is great with other dogs. He is not dangerous, but should not be placed with young children because he will get too overwhelmed," it reads.
The centre is hoping for an adoption donation of $250 for Tonik who is microchipped, groomed and has a clean bill of health.
