Liverpool and Arsenal Chasing Exciting Teen Midfielder - Report

West Bromwich Albion are worried that they will be unable to hang on to their latest youth sensation Yan Dhanda as Liverpool and Arsenal are both interested in the midfielder.

Liverpool have previously raided the West Brom academy when they managed to convince Jerome Sinclair to make the move to Anfield when he was just 14 years old. The talented young forward went on to become the club's youngest ever player when he appeared in the League Cup last season.

In fact it was against West Brom that Sinclair made his debut and he is now expected to regularly feature for the Under-21 side next season, and possibly even push for more first team action.

The Express and Star reports that West Brom are now concerned that Dhanda will also be convinced to make the move to Liverpool who demonstrated last season that they were prepared to give opportunities to a number of their academy graduates.

Arsenal are also said to be keen in the 14 year old having become aware of his talent last season and the north London club can also point to a number of their young players being given first team opportunities.

Dhanda, who plays as a deep lying midfielder, first came to prominence back in 2010 when won an Asian Soccer Star competition that was being staged at Chelsea.

He was quickly snapped up by Nike who offered him a sponsorship deal and he has trained with the England Under-16s even though he is two years younger than most other members of the squad.

The Baggies will be keen to hang on to one of their best young prospects but they will be worried that the lure of joining one of the top sides in the Premier League will tempt Dhanda to leave the Hawthornes.

Liverpool have repeatedly managed to convince young English players to make the move to Merseyside with Raheem Sterling moving from Queens Park Rangers, Andre Wisdom joining from Bradford City, Jordan Ibe coming from Wycombe Wanderers and Seyi Ojo from Mk Dons.
