Chelsea Hint Move for Tottenham Striker Target

Jose Mourinho has hinted at Chelsea move for Tottenham striker target Burak Yilmaz this summer. The Galatasaray star has been a transfer target for the former Blues manager Andre Villas-Boas, who is keen on bringing the Turkish international to White Hart Lane.

Yilmaz had an impressive spell with the Turkish champions during last season and was the league's top scorer with 24 goals. In addition to this, the 27-year-old also bagged eight goals in the Champions League as Galatasaray crashed out to Mourinho's former club, Real Madrid in the quarterfinals.

"He is world class. Burak could play for any team in the world," Mourinho told the Metro.

The Turkish international completed his switch to the Super Lig champions during the last summer after his brilliant run for Trabzonspor. Galatasaray are aware of the growing interest for Yilmaz's signature and their president, Unal Aysal revealed that he could leave the club if the suitable buyers could meet their demands.

"We have set a price for Burak Yılmaz, we will only consider an offer which is in the best interests of the club and player. If Burak wants to leave and our transfer demands are matched we could accept a deal," Aysal said.

On the other hand, Yilmaz is happy with his current employers and has now left the club to decide on his future at Galatasaray.

"I'm really happy here. I have a long-term contract here. If an offer is put on the table then it's the club's decision which will matter, not mine," Yilmaz stressed.

Finally, Chelsea's latest signing Mark Schwarzer revealed there were several clubs interested in his signature. However, the former Fulham goalkeeper decided to make a switch to Stamford Bridge and is delighted to work under the Portuguese tactician at the west London club.

"There were other interests but once I knew Chelsea was interested it was very much the case that I wanted to try and make it happen. I'm very fortunate and delighted to be sitting here today. It has an unbelievable manager and an unbelievable squad of players and it's very exciting," Schwarzer explained.

"It's a phenomenal club. It's one of the biggest and best clubs in the world, and it's an honour to sign for Chelsea. I didn't take much convincing to come here," he added.
