Overview

Atletico Madrid welcome Barcelona for the second leg of the Copa del Rey quarter-finals at the Vicente Calderon on Wednesday. The Catalans come into this match with a slender 1-0 advantage, but Atletico are strong at home and Barcelona will have to extend their advantage to have a chance to progress to the semi-final.

This is the third time the two teams are facing each other in as many weeks, and both the previous encounters have been won by the Camp Nou outfit.

Diego Simeone will be hoping that his team can change their fortunes and knock out the Catalans from the competition.

The Argentine manager faces a selection dilemma ahead of the clash, as he has to decide whether to bring Fernando Torres into the team or stick with Mario Mandzukic and Antoine Griezmann upfront.

Meanwhile, Barcelona will come into this match brimming with confidence after the 6-0 demolition of Elche in their previous fixture.

Luis Enrique rested key stars Andres Iniesta, Dani Alves and Luis Suarez for the game, but Lionel Messi and Neymar scored a brace each to see the Catalans through. The manager will have to decide whether to bring the Uruguayan forward back into the team or stick with the in-form duo along with Pedro.

What Managers Say

Diego Simeone: "Coming up against Real Madrid and then Barcelona in the Cup is for me really good because the only thing that makes you a better as a team is to play against the best and try to measure up to them even if it is difficult. I welcome playing against the best it make you better. I hope tomorrow [Wednesday] we can make that leap in quality."

Luis Enrique: "It would be a crass error to think that we are favourites. That is the first step to losing. They like to come out quickly to begin with and we expect a very intense start to the match, where we will see their very specific qualities. I remember well the Champions game last season in their stadium and the support of their fans, so I expect a very powerful Atletico."
