Thibaut Courtois
Courtois has never made an appearance for Chelsea.

Atletico Madrid are so desperate to sign Chelsea loanee goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois on a permanent basis they are willing to offer some of their biggest stars in exchange to get the deal done - with Diego Costa and Koke among those expected to sweeten the deal, according to Spanish reports.

Chelsea bought Courtois for £5m in 2011 but he has been on loan at the Vicente Calderon for the last three seasons.

The 21-year-old 'keeper has become a key player for Atletico manager Diego Simeone - helping to win the Copa del Rey against Real Madrid last season and the Europe League the previous campaign.

He conceded the least amount of goals in La Liga last year and this campaign he has been instrumental in Atletico's successful start to the season.

According to many Spanish media outlets Atletico Madrid's biggest concern surrounds keeping Courtois and El Confidencial report that they are even willing to offer to swap one of their star players in order to convince Chelsea to part ways with the Belgian.

El Confidencial does not mention any specific names but Chelsea are known to be monitoring striker Diego Costa and playmaker Koke.

Atletico's precarious financial position does not allow them to pay the £20m that Chelsea could demand for Courtois and a solution to get the deal done could be to include Costa or Koke in the deal.

Courtois has never made an appearance for Chelsea but Jose Mourinho wants him back to challenge Petr Cech for the number one shirt next season.

However, the Atletico keeper does not want to be on the bench and last season he asked the Portuguese boss if he could stay in Spain for a further term.

The Belgium international has insisted many times that he is happy in the Spanish capital and when asked about his future he recently said: "I don't know where I will be playing next season. In a short time, I will discuss my future with Chelsea and I want to know their plans".
