Avengers: Age Of Ultron will not feature any post-credits scene, reveals director Joss Whedon. While this news is sure to disappoint fans who look forward to that special scene in every Marvel film, Avengers 2 sadly will break the glorious tradition. And here's why:
It's because Whedon and his team behind Age Of Ultron didn't think they could top the post-credits scene from the first Avengers film, which featured the entire team going out for after-battle shawarma (below).
"That was a jewel and a weird little quirk," Whedon told Entertainment Weekly. "There is nothing at the very end. And that's not a fake-out. We want people to know so they don't sit there for 10 minutes and then go: 'Son of a b***h! I'll kill them!'"
"It didn't seem to lend itself in the same way, and we wanted to be true to what felt right," Whedon added. "The first rule of making a sequel is - take the best moments and do something else. Don't try to hit the same highs, because people will sense it."
Marvel Studios president of production Kevin Feige also spoke with EW, echoing Whedon's comments that there will not be a post-credits scene in Avengers: Age Of Ultron. However, "There will be a [mid-credits] tag," he said, "but there's not a post-post-credit scene."
So we can expect something right after the movie ends and just before credits begin like The Avengers' Thanos introductory scene, speculates ComicBookMovie.
