Overview

The Kieron Pollard-led Barbados Tridents have had an average tournament so far, coming into this game on the back of a seven-wicket loss to Trinbago Knight Riders on 16 July.

The Barbados outfit have played five games and are now in the fourth place on the points table with five points, winning two games and losing two with one match rained off.

What will be of concern to the team management is that Barbados are heavily reliant on AB de Villiers, Shoaib Malik and Kieron Pollard. If the trio do not fire then they tend to find themselves in trouble with the rest of the team not contributing.

De Villiers has been in good form so far, scoring 202 at an average of 67 with a strike rate of 151. A lot rides on his shoulders, with the Tridents requiring the Proteas star to score every time he goes to the crease.

For a team that has players like Michael Hussey, Shane Watson, David Miller, Darren Sammy and Morne Morkel in their ranks, the St Lucia Zouks have underperformed in the 2016 CPL.

The Zouks are currently stuck at the bottom of the table with one win from their three games. Considering they have only played three games so far, they will have a chance to move up the league table.

The clash against the Tridents will give them an opportunity to get back into form and move upwards towards their aim to qualify for a place in the knock-out stages.

Prediction

St Lucia Zouks to win.
