Barcelona are once again being linked with the signing of Brazilian starlet Kenedy, despite him joining Chelsea just last summer. Mundo Deportivo claims the Catalans are still monitoring the player and the 20-year-old forward is back on their summer shopping list, due to the insistence of the club's international advisor Ariedo Braida.

Barca had a first option to sign Kenedy over the summer, along with his former Fluminense teammate Gerson, as Braida himself revealed.

"[Barcelona] have someone [in Brazil] and he has been working on these [deals]," Braida confirmed in June, as quoted by Sport. "There has been an option to sign the two for a while now."

However, Barcelona passed on both opportunities and the players moved instead to Chelsea and Roma respectively. However, the latter has already returned to his homeland after failing to adapt to Serie A.

Mundo Deportivo has now claimed "the name of Kenedy is back in the Barcelona agenda" as the La Liga giants desperately look for a versatile forward to serve as a back-up for the MSN trio of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar.

Barcelona have been linked in recent times with the likes of Celta Vigo forward Nolito and Rennes starlet Ousmane Dembele. Mundo Deportivo suggests that the versatile Kenedy is also on the radar due to the "insistent recommendation" of former AC Milan sporting director Braida, who is currently Barcelona's football international adviser.

The Brazil international has only made 15 appearances for the Blues this season, most of them coming from the bench. Despite being signed as a winger, he has recently impressed in the left-back role.
