Beyoncé Does Off-Duty Mum For Blue Ivy's First Public Appearence

Beyoncé has shown the world that she is taking her role of new mum very seriously after trading in her heels for trainers for Blue Ivy Carter's first public appearance.

The 30-year-old singer and husband Jay-Z, 42, chose a family dinner in Manhattan, almost two months after their daughter was born, as the backdrop for Blue Ivy's debut.

Dressed in causal attire of leather trousers, a navy blue parka jacket, a woolly hat and high-top trainers, the Single Ladies songstress was a far cry from her usual glammed up self.

She nevertheless appeared relaxed and happy as she cradled her daughter in a black blanket to protect her from the windy New York weather.

The family was accompanied by a team of bodyguards as they emerged from Sant Ambroeus cafe and espresso bar in the West Village.

According to reports, the Carter family's lunch was sadly cut short because Beyoncé was not feeling well and they left after only 30 minutes.

The power couple's family outing came just days after Beyoncé and Jay-Z made their own first public appearance together since the birth of their daughter, when they attended a Knicks basketball game at Madison Square Garden.

The proud parents surprised fans earlier this month when they declined millions of dollars from glossy magazines for photos of Blue Ivy and chose to share them online instead.
