The Big Bang Theory season 9 returns with its second episode this Monday, 28 September at 8pm ET/PT on the CBS Television Network. In the episode, Sheldon is convinced that Amy still has feelings for him, and Leonard and Penny finally get past their issues and consummate their marriage.
Leonard confronts the woman he kissed on the North Sea in an attempt to set Penny's mind at ease. Also, Sheldon films a special episode of "Fun with Flags" after his breakup with Amy, and Bernadette feels guilty about withholding a secret from Penny.
According to a report, Leonard confronts Mandy about their kiss during the North Sea expedition in an attempt to make things right with his wife, Penny. Meanwhile, Sheldon records a new episode of Fun with Flags, where he talks about how Amy broke his heart. Later Amy shows up at his apartment, furious, and demands the episode be taken off the web immediately. Sheldon is convinced that she still has feelings for him, while Amy denies having such feelings.
A new promo shows Sheldon asking a worried Leonard why he is up that late. Leonard replies: "How am I supposed to sleep; married for less than 24 hours and my wife is not speaking to me." Sheldon says that he should think of this in a positive light, after which Penny shows up and confesses that she couldn't sleep either. Sheldon puts forward the idea that since Sheldon kissed another women, Penny should kiss someone else, and try to make things even.
However, Leonard dismisses it with, "That is the stupidest things I've ever heard." Penny thinks Sheldon is on to something and he comes up with the idea that Penny should kiss him, as he is "currently single." The promo ends with Leonard shouting in confusion, "What is happening?"
Another promo shows Sheldon and Amy arguing, as the former asks Amy to be there to record the new episode of Fun with Flags. Amy rejects his proposal, and asks him to stop bothering her as they have broken up.
