Blizzard has announced that the player who has a valid Battle.net account can download the Diablo 3 client right now. The highly-anticipated Diablo 3 can be played for free this weekend only. Blizzard will conduct a three-day stress test of the game to be released on 15 May. The stress test is meant to check if it is possible to handle any number of players.

Players can get the taste of the beta event from 20 April at 12:01 pm PDT until 23 April at 10:00 am PDT. Users can log in to their account and play each of the five heroic classes to level 13. Interestingly, if the user does not have an account, one can easily create a free Battle.net account.

Diablo, as a franchise, has made sales of 18.5 million copies. According to MCV, Diablo 3 will sell five million copies in its first year. The classes of the game include Witch Doctor, Barbarian, Monk, Wizard and Demon Hunter. Moreover, the stress test players will not have access to post in the beta forums and will not be offered with Beta Bucks to test the company's currency-based auction house.

"There will be glitches and bugs, but an open beat is a good way to get many of them ironed out before the actual launch," Forbes elaborated. But Korean players will not able to participate in the stress test due to regional differences and features of the stress test client. The company is conducting a separate, invitation-only closed beta test for the Korean players beginning the week of 23 April. Additionally, players in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau will get a chance to try out the game. There could be possibilities of experiencing issues with the service. "We want to catch and analyse as many bugs as possible during this stress test period, so that we can try to ensure a smooth launch on 15 May," elaborated Blizzard.
