A man dressed in full Batman costume has handed in a criminal to a police station in Bradford before vanishing into the shadows.

West Yorkshire Police said the caped crusader had brought the 27-year-old wanted in connection with fraud offences into Trafalgar House police station in Bradford on 25 February.

Police have released CCTV footage showing the 'Bradford Batman' handing over the suspect in the early hours in the hope of tracking down the vigilante.

The 27-year-old was then charged with handling stolen goods and fraud offences and is due to appear before Bradford magistrates.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "The person who brought the man in was dressed in a full Batman outfit. His identity remains unknown."

In the US, a man was stopped by police claiming to be the 'real-life Batman'. He was dressed in full Dark Knight costume, complete with his very own Batmobile.

The residents of the Slovakian town of Dunajska Streda also have their very own superhero, known as the Slovak Batman.
