Brazil begin their quest to win an Olympic gold medal on home soil with a Group A clash against South Africa at the Mane Garrincha Stadium in Brasilia on 4 August.
Where to watch live
Kick-off is set for 8pm BST. The game will be broadcast live on the BBC. Scroll down for the list of channels showing the game outside the UK.
Brazil will hope home advantage will finally help them secure an Olympic gold medal in football — the only major honour they are yet to win in the country's flagship sport. The Selecao fell at the final hurdle at the last Olympics in London, losing 2-1 to Mexico.
Barcelona star Neymar will captain Brazil on home soil, while new Manchester City signing Gabriel Jesus could also start. Lazio midfielder Felipe Anderson, Barcelona forward Rafinha and Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos are other high-profile players included in the Olympic squad of the five-time world champions.
South Africa will be out to repeat their stunning 3-1 victory over Brazil at the 2000 summer Olympics in Sydney. The Bafana Bafana's U-23 team were beaten by the South American giants in a friendly match by the same score line in March.
