Overview

Burnley are making their return to the Premier League after a gap of four years, and will be looking to get off to the best possible start. The Lancashire club comes into the game after a good pre-season and take on title favorites Chelsea.

Manager Sean Dyche, will have a full squad to choose from except Sam Vokes, who has not recovered from the knee injury he sustained last season. Danny Ings will be the player to watch out for at turf Moor this season.

Meanwhile, Chelsea, who many predict will go on to win the title, will be looking to continue their run of opening day wins, after having not lost a game since the opening day of the 1998 season.

Blues striker Didier Drogba is doubtful for the game, but new signings Cesc Fabregas, Diego Costa and Filipe Luis could all be in line for a start. Manager Jose Mourinho has never lost an opening game during both his spells as manager of Chelsea.

Stat of the Match: Burnley has not beaten Chelsea in the top flight of English football for 41 years.

What Managers Say

Jose Mourinho (Chelsea): "We need more quality in our football. When you have matches with space and time it's much easier to play football. When you don't have space and time because a lot of football is based around tactics and systems: in a very simple way, everything depends on space and time."

Sean Dyche (Burnley): "We're demanding and I think we played some very good football last season, we had some great times, so it can be done. Obviously now we've come to a whole different level. The Championship is unbelievably competitive but, with all due respect, there's not the quality of the Premier League."
