Capital Jingle Bell Ball 2015: Coldplay join Justin Bieber and Little Mix as part of line-up

Just as they dropped new single Adventure Of A Lifetime live on the radio on 6 November, Coldplay announced they will join the likes of Justin Bieber and Little Mix for the 2015 Capital FM Jingle Bell Ball. The British band are set to perform on the first night of the event, Saturday 5 December, as part of the music-filled weekend.

The foursome previously performed at Capital's Summertime Ball in 2012 and their set was voted the best moment of the year at Wembley Stadium, so they are bound to amp it up for the forthcoming show.

Jess Glynne, Years & Years, Charlie Puth, Nathan Sykes formerly of The Wanted and Ellie Goulding will also take part in the festive concerts, as will international superstars David Guetta, Nick Jonas, Ariana Grande and Jason Derulo.

Fans of the Sky Full Of Stars band were also in for another treat as not only did they unveil their new single and news of the upcoming gig but Chris Martin, Guy Berryman, Jonny Buckland and Will Champion also announced their seventh album, A Head Full Of Dreams, will be released on 4 December.

The band had previously teased the reveal when Martin shared a selfie of them during rehearsal on 5 November. He captioned the photograph: "Hi, here we are in rehearsal. We have some news tomorrow. Thanks for being the best fans on earth. Love Coldplay."

All of Coldplay's previous albums have reached number one in the UK, so they will undoubtedly be hoping to reach the Christmas top spot when it comes to A Head Full Of Dreams. Here's the tracklist to give you an idea of what kind of songs will feature on the record...

Tickets for the Capital Jingle Bell Ball went on sale on this morning (6 November) at 8am and sold out in record time on official sites Capitalfm.co.uk and axs.com.
