Another attraction of the upcoming episode is a stunning performance by Canadian singer Carly Rae Jepsen to the song I Really Like You.
After news that Stana Katic is yet to sign a contract for season 8, many fans speculated that Katic's character Kate will die in the season finale of the ABC thriller. However, show creator Andrew W Marlowe denied any such rumours saying neither will there be any Derek Shepherd kind of death in the season finale, nor will the show conclude on a cliffhanger.
"I think that we can say that if we were to come back next year, we would be coming back with all of our pieces intact," Marlowe told Entertainment Weekly. "It's not a Grey's Anatomy situation by any means."
Season 6 of Castle ended on a huge cliffhanger that showed the mystery novel writer 'dying' in a tragic car accident. But the current season will deal with Rick's trauma as an 11-year-old boy and what motivated him to turn into a mystery writer.
It remains to be seen how the events will unfold when Castle season 7 returns with episode 22 titled Dead From New York on 4 May on ABC.
