Manchester United fans took on social networking site as they expressed their views as Chelsea completed re-signing their former midfielder Nemanja Matic from Benficia in the ongoing transfer window.

Matic was first signed by the west London club from MSK Kosice in 2009, where he saw his first team appearances being limited. However, his lack of playing time saw the Blues offload him as a part of a swap deal with Benfica, which saw David Luiz make a switch to Stamford Bridge.

The Serbian international impressed during his time in Portugal, which saw him being linked with a move to England, while few clubs across Europe were also interested in signing the midfielder.

However, Matic decided to return to Stamford Bridge and has urged to give his best to help the team and make Chelsea fans happy.

"I am very happy for this opportunity to be back at this club. I feel very good because of that and just want to say I will give my best to help the team and make the Chelsea fans happy," Matic told Chelsea's official website.

Meanwhile, the Premier League champions are yet to make a signing in January as David Moyes looks to bring in players to strengthen the squad in mid-season transfer window.

United fans expressed their opinion on Twitter after Chelsea signed Matic, who could be in contention to face the Red Devils, when they travel to Stamford Bridge for the league fixture on Sunday.
