Chelsea are looking to pursue Paris Saint-Germain youngster Adrien Rabiot, who is also a target for Premier League rivals Arsenal.

According to the Express, Jose Mourinho is keen to further add to his midfield before the start of the season and is said to be a big fan of the midfielder. The Blues boss feels his ability to play at either midfield or the defense will be a big asset for the team.

The former Real Madrid manager has already strengthened his midfield with Cesc Fabregas, following the departure of Frank Lampard, but seems to be keen to get another player in to cover the loss of David Luiz to PSG earlier in the summer.

Arsene Wenger is also said to be a big admirer of the player and has been linked with a move for the midfielder during the summer transfer window.

It is claimed that Chelsea have already had a £7m bid rejected and are now willing to go in with an offer closer to the £10m mark. Mourinho will be desperate to beat his nemesis Wenger to the youngster's signature, especially after a few other reports claimed the Gunners are closer to landing the star for a fee around £8m.

It is believed that the 19-year-old midfielder is open to a move away from PSG, as he does not see himself getting regular game time, as he has Yohan Cabaye, Blaise Matuidi and Marco Verratti vying for midfield places ahead of him.

Moreover, the French U21 international made just 25 appearances for the first team and a mere 12 of them coming from the start. Also, with Rabiot on the final-year of his contract, Arsenal or Chelsea should get him at a relatively low price.
