According to a report in the Daily Mail, Chelsea's young Belgian goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois, has a high-profile suitor.

The 19-year-old shot stopper, who signed for the Blues, from his home club of Genk last summer, has spent the season on loan at La Liga side Atletico Madrid, where he has been in impressive form.

It now appears that Atletico's cross-town rivals, the mighty Real Madrid, are interested in signing Courtois as an understudy and long-term replacement for Iker Casillas.

The young Belgian, who made his full debut for his country in November, has however admitted he needs more experience, maybe in the form of another loan, before he can take on the goalkeeper's role at a top club.

"I think I will have to play for another English team for a year or two before I join Chelsea," he said.

Meanwhile, there are reports that Real's influential Argentine winger, Angel Di Maria, is the target of a £35m bid from Stamford Bridge. Di Maria is reportedly unhappy with his wages (reportedly £40,000 per week) and is looking to double his money.
